False Alert - today

Did anyone else see false alerts today that appear to have not been real? Trouble trying to figure out if I have a problem? Alert said door was unlocked when it wasn’t? Confusing

Yes, in fact, I did.

Got a pair of alerts (and also Vera Alerts via the app) about a particular light switch going on and off that is on a timed scene which should have last fired on Saturday. I didn’t receive those on Saturday, so figured there was a problem then.

Maybe the scene worked on Saturday (I’m not at the home to view) but the alerts arrived today.

Odd mine were not tied to a scene. When I look at the device log I don’t see any actual actions to trip the alert.

One of my motion sensors generated a few alerts today but when I logged into the dashboard it did not show tripped. Nor did the IP cam in that room show anything or detect movement. I did notice all my sensors were disarmed even though the house mode was set to away and they should have been armed. Even my smokes were disarmed and those are always armed. A LUUP reload resolved that issue.

I have been having issues with my garage door sensor false alarms, although it has slowed down a bit.

I havent had to much false alerts with it since I got it, but once in a while it will tell me that my back door is unlocked when it is. I just keep having to rest it. It tends to work for a while then goes back to doing the same thing over and over again.

I had one Kwikset door false unlock and one garage door unlock. In both cases they eventually reset to locked. I believe the garage door may have happen after a brief power outage.

The problem I have is that even a few false alarms are really bad because you don’t know if there is an issue or not. I could it ignore a real condition at some point!

After having to involuntary fire drills in the middle of the night, my wife “kindly requested” to disable the escalation path (the smoke detector itself doesn’t use its siren, it is just the Vera that concludes it is triggered putting all lights and sirens on). I guess that takes away a lot of the effectiveness of an integrated solution…

Yesterday I also recieved some false alerts via vera alert from notifications which had most probably occured (days?) before , definately not at the time the notifications came.

Was this a backlog if messages not being delivered?
