I have two motion sensors that by all visual appearance look identical and are labeled as HSM100
I bought them at different times, a couple of years ago when I was running UI5. They worked fine for a while but developed problems later so I put them away in a box and forgot about them.
I wanted to see if I could get them to work under UI7 or determine that they are faulty and just throw them out.
As it turns out, both of them are working fine and both report motion, temp and light levels reliably but they don’t work the same and there’s one minor annoyance with one of them.
When I add them, one shows up as an EZmotion 3-in-1 and the other shows up as an EZMotion+.
The EZmotion 3-in-1 configures properly with a root device labeled “3-in-1 sensor” which shows the battery level and has all of the configuration parameters.
It has three child devices, a temperature sensor, a motion sensor and a light sensor. So far, so good.
The EZMotion+ doesn’t configure right. The root device is a motion sensor which shows the battery level and has all of the configuration parameters.
It has three child devices, temperature sensor, light sensor and another motion sensor. This dummy motion sensor doesn’t do anything. The root device shows motion reliably and it reports temp and light levels reliably.
It works fine, and the dummy motion sensor doesn’t hurt anything I guess, it just annoys my OCD having a dummy device that isn’t what it’s labeled as.
Anyone know how to fix this? Should I just open a ticket with MCV? I did a search and found some old threads on the EZMotion subject but nothing recent related to this specific issue.
Thanks
