I think I’m about ready to throw in the towel and start researching other options.
Ezlo still can not replace my Vera and it’s been what 4 years since the launch of the Ezlo controller?
Next month will be the 7th anniversary of the acquisition of Vera.
JonathanB is probably the only one here specifically dedicated to collecting and channeling the Ezlo topics/problems raised here in the forum. Unfortunately, he hasn’t commented recently. Maybe he’s on vacation…
However, it would be of interest to everyone if the questions/problems/comments were addressed here or in another thread. I’m really trying to help the platform improve usability, report bugs, suggest features, and so on. But it seems like every effort is wasted energy.
Why aren’t questions/problems/requests addressed? The forum is practically dead. Every few days, someone wanders in and asks a question. But no help is offered. That doesn’t make a good impression at all.
Hello @Odysee,
Thank you for your patience, and I truly appreciate your detailed feedback and continued efforts to support the Ezlo platform. I also apologize for the delay in getting back to you — I’ll do my best to provide clear updates on each of the points you raised:
- Geofencing:
The feature has been launched on Android; however, there’s currently a cloud-side issue preventing the creation and triggering of geofencing events. This is impacting both Android and iOS functionality. The issue has been reported and is already included in the current development sprint. - Dashboards (Web & Designer):
At the moment, there are no concrete plans to redesign the web dashboard. Regarding the Dashboard Designer, we’ll be creating a task internally to define the requirements. That said, we don’t anticipate development starting before August at the earliest. - Firmware Updates:
The option to switch between automatic and manual firmware updates is still on the roadmap. The PRD (Product Requirements Document) is currently being refined. In the meantime, all controllers are automatically updated to the latest firmware upon release in order to reduce delays and avoid dependency on manual updates or user action. - New Controllers:
Development is underway, but we don’t have an official ETA to share just yet. - ECFI (Ezlo Community Features and Issues):
Could you please clarify your current concerns regarding ECFI? The previous ECS project has been cleaned up, and relevant reports have been migrated to ECFI.
We’re currently using ECS to collect raw reports from customers — which is why it still appears in the forum menu. These reports are reviewed and refined into full ECFI entries with logs and technical details to support the developers.
ECFI tickets are being submitted daily from multiple sources: not just from the forum, but also from support channels like customer care calls and emails. - Website Redesign:
The new website is now live, although we’re still polishing a few elements. The full launch will be officially announced soon.
Once again, thank you for your involvement and thoughtful input. We truly value your engagement in helping us improve the platform. I’ll continue monitoring the forum and will make sure your questions and suggestions are channeled internally where needed.
Hello Jonathan,
Thank you for the feedback.
Dashboards (Web & Designer): Some tiles have already been redesigned, and now there’s a mix of old and new tiles. I assume you’re still working on it. The goal will probably be for the web dashboard to look the same as in the MiOS app. But when will that be done? I’ve already reported a few things that still need to be improved: Temperature values below 1 are displayed without a 0 in front of the decimal point (app), and there’s still a problem that hasn’t been resolved for 8 months with values from IP devices not being displayed (web) or not being updated (app).
It’s perfectly fine that the designer is taking a while (although the start of development in August isn’t that far in the future). But why do we have to keep asking for this information? First, a designer was introduced that worked halfway but wasn’t usable, then another one was hinted at in parallel, and at some point this functionality was completely removed again, and nobody knew what would happen next.
Regarding the ECFI: I wouldn’t describe it as a concern. I just find it opaque from a user perspective as it currently stands.
I thought ECS would be completely replaced by the ECFI system. Instead, it now forms a kind of precursor to the ECFI system (temporary or permanent?). 99% of the requests have been set to Fixed/Done/Obsolete. From the customer’s perspective, these cases have been discarded. In reality, they are still open, but in the new ECFI system, which only EZLO can view internally. The customer is therefore left in the dark about what is happening with them.
New requests now apparently remain in the ECS system and have a correct status that is understandable to the user.
Finally, a positive development: With the latest dashboard version, I am finally able to view my cameras from a third-party network, even with smooth video.
Since the weekend, I haven’t been getting any images from the cameras. This applies to both the remote and the local network. Since nothing has changed on the web frontend, I suspect something is wrong on the server side.
@JonathanB can you (or have someone) take a look at it?
Hello @Odysee,
Sure, checking…
Did you find anything? There are still no camera images here.
Hello @Odysee
I apologize for the delay.
We’ve just sent you an email with more details about the issue – please check your inbox when you have a moment.
In short, we found that the WebRTC and MediaMTX services on your controller were stuck, but we’ve resolved that on our side. However, one camera is still showing as offline.
Could you please check that camera on your end and let us know?
We will also report this event to our development team so they can investigate why the service became stuck and didn’t recover automatically.
Thanks for your help!
Hi Jonathan,
Thank you for fixing the camera images. I’m glad to hear they’re investigating the cause. Restarting my controller probably would have solved the problem, but this way we can learn something from it.
The camera images are displayed again. The one camera showing offline is correct as it’s not connected at the moment.
However, I did not receive an email (sent to gmail or gmx adress?).
Hello @Odysee
You are most welcome, and I’m glad to hear the camera images are displaying again.
Regarding the email, it was sent to your GMX address. Could you please double‑check your inbox and spam/junk folders to see if it might have been filtered there? If you still don’t see it, we can resend the information to your Gmail address instead—just let us know which one you prefer.
Thanks again for your patience and for confirming the status of the offline camera.
I’ve already checked the spam folders. Can please you re-send the email?
Hello Jonathan,
Since I can’t send you a PM and the ticket was closed, I’ll just ask here:
Do you have any information about Request ID #317218? The ticket seems to be closed. In your last reply five months ago, you wrote that a new ticket had been opened regarding this. Is there anything happening?
Hello @Odysee
I apologize for the delayed response.
I’ve already reached out to our development team for an update. Due to the time zone difference, their response will likely take until tomorrow.
I’ll keep you informed and share any news with you as soon as I receive it.
Is there any news yet?
How’s it going? Anyone else here?
Eerily quiet in here… I visit every couple of weeks just out of interest where Ezlo is heading. By now it seems like a conclusion is starting to appear to the original question on this subject.
@JonathanB This problem has been going on for over 10 months now, and there’s still no solution. Is anything happening, or should we change the title to “Ezlo Development Is Falling Asleep”?
Maybe busy working on the new hardware?
Let’s be honest. This isn’t making a good impression at all…
First, the big acquisition with lots of promises and fanfare. “We can integrate everything in 90 days.” And what came of it? Several years after the launch of the Ezlo platform, everything still feels like it never left beta.
The dashboard is in some kind of in-between state. There’s no dashboard editor. Geofencing doesn’t work. There’s no data logging. The web interface and the app aren’t at the same level of functionality. I don’t see any progress with user feature requests…
The forum is like a ghost town. I get more Ezlo advertising by email than anyone posts here. It looks more like stagnation than development.
