I am thinking about extending my zwave network to an external building. I already have Vera3 and wonder if I can bridge VeraLight with it to accomplish this. I have network connectivity in my external building. Is this the best way to extend zwave functionality to my building? Will I lose any functionality by using VeraLight if I already have Vera3? Will I still set up the controls only in Vera3 and not have to mess with VeraLight separately once I put it in bridge mode?
yes this is exactly what i did and it works great, you add the devices to the veralite and they will show up on the vera 3 dashboard, you can do all the automation programing on the main vera 3
If you’re in North America and using Leviton scene/zone controllers, there are a few details to be aware of. (I believe along the lines of: scenes involving Leviton scene/zone controllers on the remote/imported Vera (i.e. Vera Lite in your case), need to be created on that Vera.)
