I’m looking at which dimmers I’m going to use. I’m using Halo LED cans and also Cree LEDs for retrofit in locations I can’t use Halo. I also have GU24 dimmable CFLs I need to control. All of these will dim using standard dimers but work best with dimers that have low end trim and a neutral connection.
Tried a GE 45612 only to find out that they change them so they no longer have a neutral. What a bummer.
I’m looking at Cooper and Evolve but Coopers are about three times the price.
Does anyone have experience with Evolve Dimmers with dimmable LEDs and CFLs?
I’ve had 4 of the evolve LRM-15 for about 2 months controlling anything from 2 or 7 CREE LED cans to incandescent fixtures (about to be replaced with LEDs this weekend). They do a good job of full range of control without any flicker (unlike the GE modules I tried before). Price point is great.
My next job is to attempt to false cap the max brightness.
search for posts by me to find out how to"false cap" the max brightness. I believe its labeled led flickering workaround. Involves editing startup lua, works awesome.
I still get flickering on my ge switches at certain mid ranges… I may try these out. Its a shame too. I have 75 ge switches i’m my house. I would love to replace them all to avoid the led flickering.

Hi John,
Did you get the Evolve dimmer?
I am looking into buying the same and I am wondering how they are working for you.
Please let me know
I just got the Evolve LRM-15(AS).
This dimmer is excellent!!!
I bought 10 different types of LEDs to see which one I like best… The evolve dimmer works great with every LED bulb I have tried so far.
Great product!!!

I concur, Evolve dimmer works well, but I can’t seem to manually control the light, I.E., I can’t just walk up and switch on the table lamp; I have to use a controller.
Is there a setting that I’m missing, or is it that the LED bulb doesn’t carry enough load to use manual switches?

This is odd!
It works perfectly fine…
tell me more about your setup. How many LEDs did you connect to the dimmer and what is the wattage on the bulb(s)…
I’m using both Evolve and Intermatic modules. Both respond to Vera’s commands, but they do not operate manually. If the table lamp is off, you can’t just walk up and turn it on (the way X-10) used to work.
In Configuation settings, I’ve set Variable is set at 29, the Data Size at Default (I’ve tried all the hex settings) and the Declared value is 1.
No matter what kind of bulb I use – incandescent, fluorescent, or LED – the manual operation does not work.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
