My Vera dumped all my information…my scenes, MyVera.com info, Wifi settings, rooms, all plug-ins…everything…except for the recognition that my devices still exist and are still paired.
I first noticed it when I could not log in with my iPhone on my way home as I always do to unlock my door and turn on my lights and heat. I got home and hit my button on my 4-scene controller inside my door that activates the scene I just described above. All devices did what they were suppose to…until I logged into Vera and realized what had happened. After I did that, nothing works. I seem to be forced to start from scratch and with the number of devices I have…the scenes I had programmed…the controllers I have… I am extremely frustrated…especially in the fact I leave for Mexico in two days.
I’m not even sure why I’m posting this besides that I would like to know if anyone else experienced this and if they knew the cause. I do not have time to reconfigure everything so my home will remain unequipped and without surveillance while I am gone for two weeks. Not happy… >:(
no idea- but can you get your last backup off of findvera.com and restore that to the device and get it back?
looks like you can login at findvera and go to settings and than download any of the last few nightly backups.
then log into the vera and setup-> advanced-> backup ->restore?
what version are you running.
Seems the last couple UI2 versions had issues and a quick fix just got posted to fix those.
see the latest post about it here:

I’m running .979.
Unless I’m missing its location, it doesn’t seem that it has saved any nightly backups even though I have the auto-backup checked. I’ve never had any problem over several months, besides having to do an occasional power cycle, so I guess I never worried about it.
For the time being, I’ll at least get my cameras & lock back up and running and, when I get back from vacation, probably do a hard reset and start from scratch.
What irritates me the most is the time I will need to reinvest and hope that it goes problem free(as most of us know will not be the case.)
The automatic backups should be listed under “Settings” when you log on to findvera.com
you have to be at the remote findvera.com - dont let it sign in locally.
good luck
Excellent guys. Thank you. I can now enjoy my margaritas worry-free.
I’m still curious why it dumped, especially in the manner it did… At first I couldn’t log in remotely, but then a 4-scene controller did its job until I logged in locally on my pc. Then, bam, it was a factory restored Vera and all devices were useless???
Either way, thanks again for getting me back on track. I’m getting too dang dependent on this stuff. ;D
it is addictive when you get used to it, lol
