Just wondering if anybody else has had any trouble with the UK version of the Everspring On/Off switch refusing to function? I have 10 of these devices and my initial impression is that they simply aren’t reliable. I have only been using them for a couple of weeks and I have already experienced issues with a few of them ceasing to respond to commands sent via the Vera. I might think there was a fault on the Vera but everything else appears to still work and accept messages. The only way to fix the problem appears to be to unplug the switch and plug it back in again. On the whole the performance is very disappointing. A stress test reveals that no messages are passing through at all, which is a pain and also means the mesh probably won’t be working properly either.
I’ve been using 2 of them for 6 weeks now and had no trouble at all
Nick
I run the Everspring switches and have had a problem with two of them.
The first used to turn on and off by itself and would also turn on if you touched the plug on it or sometimes just the plastic case. clearly something not quite right with it.
The second would join the network but would not show up in a stress test and would not function at all. Because I’d had them both for a while before I started using them I was unable to return them. However both are now up and running.
The first one (that would turn on a off) I removed from the system and replaced with another. I then located this to another location, reinserted it into my network and it’s been fine ever since. I can only assume the act of removing it and reinserting it sorted it out.
The same with the second one althought it took a good few attempts to get it to join the network. Interestingly I also have a socket that from a stress test show’s it’s not seen by anything else (even though it’s in the same room as 6 other zwave devices) but it works fine.
From my experience I’d say try removing it from the network and then putting back it, I also ensure I always take vera to the socket at it’s location and insert it in situ.
Interestingly I’ve bought a number of these in different batches, mostly they come in white box packaging but a couple I bought came in what was clearly retail packaging (plastics blister cases). I’ve always purchased from the same place (Vesternet) so not sure why the difference in packaging.
I continue to have dreadful trouble with these devices and they appear to fail over time as well, I now have a couple that won’t listen at all. I strongly recommend avoiding this product wherever possible.
