Everspring Doorbell UTSE03A

End of August, year 2012 ! Is it working well now ? ;D

I want one but cant get it if it doesn’t work.
Any new news ? (nunuz)

As no progress seems to have been made on this, I have started wondering if I could get one of the new Aeon alarm panic buttons and then put that in a conventional water sealed doorbell casing. Cheap doorbells are available for about £6. Anyone else up for trying this or have any news about the Everspring doorbell?

I think these here are all Z-wave products, some I’ve not seen before, there is a panic button as well.

Just got this reply from mios support:

The doorbell device is a z-wave device and it is supported by the Vera unit, but in order to have all the functionality you should associate it to another z-wave device, like a switch. You have to do this configuration because the push button from the doorbell, on the current version, is not working with a third party controller.
To use the door bell you need to add a z-wave switch and also create an association between these 2 devices and afterward the push button should work. The association should be made on the “Device options” tab from the z-wave switch.
Everspring announced that they will release a new version that should work with a third party controller, but we are not sure if it was released.

Anyone want to give it a try. Didn’t get me any further along, but I’m no z-wave guru

I don’t get it? If I had one of these I’d want to be able to run a Vera scene when the door bell is pushed. What’s the point of associating it with another zwave switch? To turn that switch on?

Can it not be associated with a virtual switch?
That could then activate the chime.

I thought of that too, but the virtual switch doesn’t support that option.

The problem seems to be that the button can’t be a secondary controller.

So what are they saying, if you associate the doorbell button with another zwave device like a switch, you should then be able to run a Vera scene when the button is pressed?

It looked like that is what Vera Support was trying to tell me. I’ve asked for clarification, but didn’t get any response yet. Probably due to the Holidays. As soon as I get more info I’ll post it here.

That is correct. The push button does not support association, so you have to use a regular z-wave switch that supports association. You just have to make sure to add the door bell in a group supported by the switch, place it by the door and when someone turns it on, the door bell will ring.

Another way to do this would be to create a scene on Vera so that whenever a specific light switch (or virtual switch) turns on, ring the door bell and stop it from ringing after a few seconds (this can be done with a delay inside the same scene).

So your saying use a Z-wave switch as the door push button ? And not to use the actual push button that comes with this set? Sorry I’m confused.

Hi All,

…I see this is still ongoing - I wish you all the best in the quets.

I however gave up and it push button is now gathering dust in the cupboard. I purchased a minimote, cracked it open, measured it, purchased off ebay a matching size door bell push button (a little hit and miss) removed all the interiors from the door bell push button puchsed off ebay, did a little fileign etc to make the circut board of the minimote fit, bent a piec of mettal (the batter holding piece) to make the button push a button on the minimote and then used the minimote as you would normaly in vera but as a door bell push button.

A crappy fix but so far worked and took me no time at all unlike the many many emails and head scrtiching truing to get the origional button to work - crazy they have still not released a fix for this - how hard can a simple door bell push button be! ::slight_smile:

Picture attached for you if of interest.

as an FYI I have just installed and RFX… (search Site) and it allows me to opperate on different frequencies with Vera - excellet aplication! cudos to the developers and Parkerc for his guide. I did this to use the cheaper 2 gang Lightwave RF switches with Vera (better style and considerabley cheaper) but…getting to the point… you could likely then use a simple Lightwave RF door bell push button for ?10 from B&Q - as such the proposed use of RFX allows you extended capability with vera (x10, LightwaveRF…) is a costefective soloution for the amout of options you open up (dust off thouse old x10 switches) and will work.

A bit of a rant here - appolagies. and as always "bashed out and likely full off miss types - appolagies.

In essence I am just so supprised STILL that a simple zwave bell push is not available / working / fixed. Go with the RFX or minimote option and get back to further vera fun ;D

@ CW-Kid - I have not forgoten your email and will reply, been off the grid for a bit and hope you well and the above helps you as I knwo you too have been seeking a soloution here for some time.

Why not use the Fibaro 3-1 binary switch ,a bit cheaper and will do the same I guess.
That’s what I am planning for my doorbell :
Fibaro 3-1 (Including ability to measure temperature outside) ,ordinary switch as teh push button, associate a scene with it. ( use vera alerts, sonos etc).

Cor

do you mean the door / window sensor? its not a push button though ringht?

This one:

you can add a temp sensor on it and a "simple"push button (doorbell) to activate something.

Cor

Interesting - can you post a link to a push button example we could look at?

I recieved the device (for this purpose) last week but haven’t had time to install it, it should do the trick:

Cor

interesting - let us know how you get on

@ LightsOn: just played a bit with this 3in1 device , according the manual it hould be possible to use the device as a scene activator, but I have some difficulties inserting the parameters and using it in a scene.
BUT…it should work

FYI: This is a thread I just opened about this device:

Hi Cor,

thanks for this and the further forum post. I think we can safley say we have now identified several suitable door bell options - lets hope the most obvious option (the push button described in this thread) is evetualy sorted also - here’s to the waiting… tick tock… ::slight_smile:
