errors in log file related to PLEG - possible bug ?

I was looking for something unrelated in my log, and have seen these errors relating to PLEG. I think my PLEG is running fine, but going through the log i can see these regularly. As i said, not causing any issues as far as i am aware, but they might point to a bug so i thought i post it here. I cannot see anything related to PLEG around these errors in the log but i dont really know a lot about interpreting the log…

Ignore the file extension … do you see a file with the name S_ProgramLogicEG
When you go to Apps → Develop Apps → Luup Files ?

If so … I would not worry about this message.

Yes i have that. I’ll ignore the errors.

mikee123 - I noticed the same thing in my logs. But I see similar errors for some non-RTS plugins, too. Hasn’t affected the performance of my Vera.

I wanted to chime in and say all of the sudden I am getting this message and my pleg is not working any more.

  • Garrett

FWIW, I get those errors constantly, but it hasn’t affected my PLEGs.

It affected my pleg as it would not work at all. I downloaded the files and re-uploaded them and all is working again.

  • Garrett

Running into the same problem. Is there somewhere the files can be downloaded?

bump

You can login to Vera and delete all of the PLEG/PLTS files.

Then restart Vera … It should detect this and re-download them.

This problem seems to be a Vera Problem.
There is anything I can do to fix it. At least that I know of.

Understood Richard. I know it’s not a PLEG issue.

Thanks so much for the advice. I’ll try that. Was hoping there was a direct download link like code.mios.com for PLEG and avoid the reinstallation route since I have 2 PLEG entries with about 30 activities each

The approach I gave does NOT require you to delete your plugins.
You will not loose any information.

If you uninstall you WILL loose your data.
I hardly ever recommend people to UNINSTALL any plugin.

Except that ergy plug in!

ah, appreciate the clarification. That’s a relief.

Thanks again richard!

Just reporting back. Deleting the files didn’t work sadly. Vera did try to re-download, but it’s showing some odd errors in the log on boot and the files are still missing:

Oddly enough, things are at least working, so maybe i’ll just leave it alone for now.

some one that has the problem should open A ticket with MCV

Good suggestion. Done. I’ll report back if any fixes are found.

I’m experiencing this issue now, too. When I opened UI5 on my Vera 3 this morning I had several warnings that my startup lua had failed for all of my PLEGs. Checked the log and I have a ton of the “doesn’t exist” errors. Did you hear anything silencery?

MCV support responded to my ticket asking about the “doesn’t exist” problem with this:

[tt]
I’ve made some changes to your unit but I’m not 100% percent that it will work. (Those are 3rd party plugins, they aren’t created by us)

The issue was that those files are encrypted and they weren’t recognized by Vera.

Instead of xml.lzo they have xml.lzoenc as an extension.
[/tt]

Is the encrypting something that the plugin authors do? I had this issue with several plugins, all downloaded from the MCV app “store”.

I think this is much to do about nothing. I will turn off encryption for this file on the next release.
