Looking for a little help with another quirky issue. I have a DSC 1864 panel with Envisalink EV3. Everything works perfectly, for a day at a time. Every day, overnight, the EV3 just seems to loose its connection to the micasaverde controller. The only way that I have found to get it to work again is to go into the DSC panel icon in the gateway, click the wrench to open the advanced settings, then change the last octet of the IP address of the EV3, save the settings, then do the same thing again to change it back to the original setting (Using XXX.XXX.20.9 for the EV3). I’ve tried adding 4025 as the port number in the settings and that doesn’t change anything, but that seems to go away overnight also.
I have tried to change the address of the envisalink to something else (i.e. XXX.XXX.20.150) to try to avoid any conflict with IP that I might not be seeing, but even after I change it in the interface when I scan my network to see if it has taken effect, it still maintains the .9 IP address on the EV3, and a ping to XXX.XXX.20.150 times out, and a ping to .9 returns perfectly. The EV3 continues to work thru the EyesOn site, even after the micaseverde has locked up, so it seems like it is not the Envisalink, but rather something in the way that the micasaverde is communicating with it.
Thanks for the reply bulldog, I guess i have to admit that I didn’t realize that there was an option to select static or DHCP for the EV3.
I just went to the EyesOn site to see if I could figure out how to affect it and can’t see where that option would be selected, can you point me in the right direction to select one or the other?

Log on to you EVL3 locally (direct local IP address).
Click on NETWORK located in the top right.
Make Network Settings Static? Select
Change IP address to some outside DCHP range
Select submit.
You can also verify your firmware
Firmware Version: 01.11.120 or higher
Click Reboot Envisalink locate just above the firmware version.
no joy here bulldog, I assigned a static IP to the Envisalink (as well as the veralite) in the router. I was messing around with some other stuff and noticed that the red Lua failed message had apperared on the DSC again. This time of course, it seems that it had nothing to do with the overnight issue that I thought that I had identified…nay further suggestions?
So you probably restarted vera about the time you noticed the error? Looks like it’s related to the restart.
If your IP’s are playing nicely now, perhaps you should post your setting on the plugin’s devices. There are tons of DSC users out here that can assist.
