Enerwave ZWN-RSM2 Instant Status?

Does anyone know how to turn on Instant Status in the Enerwave ZWN-RSM2? I can’t seem to get it to work in my UI5 Veralite.

Here is a screenshot of the setting I used that did not work.

Update, it started working instant. I guess changing the setting 3 to 1 shown in the above screenshot worked. For some reason it took some time before it would start working. I didn’t reboot or anything yet it decided to work again.

Here is another update. I feel like I am talking to myself but maybe this might help someone in the future. I just purchased another unit and the new unit would not give instant status. I figured out that you need to change the settings for the Virtual switch (Ghost switch, Child switch) honestly I don’t know what to call it. When you add this device to the Vera it shows three switches. If you look in the ID under settings you can figure out which is which. Load 1 is e1, Load 2 is e2 and the other one is just a number. The one with just the number is the one you have to assign to a room if you want the other switches in that room. If you move e1 or e2 it will pop right back where it started. Also you have to set the configuration details with the ghost switch. Note that the ghost switch also controls load one, very confusing I know. So anyway to get instant status you need to add the configuration settings of Variable 3, 1 byte hex and desired value 1. Then you exit and save it. You can see a screen shot a few posts up. Now it will error after a while and the ghost switch will come up with a red error. You can delete the ghost switch and the error will go away. Then you change the names back to your custom names and move it back to your room. You don’t need to write the settings again because it already saved it even though it gave a error before. And you will have instant status! If you switch both switches at the same time you won’t get instant status. They talk at the same time and have a mini stroke or something and the signal never makes it out.

Okay, I just installed another one. And knowing what I do now I only changed the settings to the one with the ID number. Not the e1 or e2. It wrote and saved the settings with no errors. So I guess it only will give you a error if you do e1 or e2 first. I tested it by turning off and on the light at the switch and I got instant status on both switches after adding the settings shown in the screenshot above. So you only need to change the settings for the one with the ID number.

I don’t think this device truly supports instant status. What your en enabling I’m not fully sure of. Only info I saw was on amazon and with no real description and the price of the device. If it works any better then normal just roll with it.

The device is capable of instant status and talks about it in the manual, just at first I was having issues. It comes disabled by default. You have to enable it yourself using the command I talked about above. It won’t work unless you enable it after you purchase it.

I used these devices and I really like them!

As @chasiu said, they support instant update but it’s disabled by default. You just need to set parameter 3 to 1 on the real device (other devices are just child devices, and shouldn’t be modified). Also they support voltages between 100-240V, which is nice.

Hi!
I have an actuator valve that I want to automate
PResently I am using a toggle switch SPDT as ON OFF ON.
First ON closes it
second ON opens it

Would Enerwave ZWN-RSM2 work on it?

Please if it works, can someone please provide instructions on how to make it work?
The actuator comes with a neutral white wire and 2 Load wires (brown and blue)

Thanks

This worked also on IU7.

Thanks for posting this Chasiu!!
