Energy monitor for pool pump

I currently use a smart pump that has an electronic timer for on/off and speed control. It starts the pump at certain times of the day, based on its internal clock.
I also have a ZWave switch to turn on the salt cell chlorinator 5 mins after pump ON and 5 mins before pump OFF.
It would damage the salt cell chlorinator system if this was turned on while the pump was off and no water was flowing.
The pump’s time clock creeps out of sync with actual time, so I’m concerned this can happen.

I’d like to have an energy meter on the pump so my Vera knows when the pump is running.
Then I could trigger the chlorinator based on this info, rather than time of day.

What are my options ?

You could install that old 2 clamp power monitor I gave you on the 240 running to the pool, then set up a scene that only turns on the power to the salt cell when power draw to the pump is > XX watts
