Elk partition not working anymore.

I have lost control of the elk partition on 1.4.1. I am getting a ? With a -1 under it. I am not sure if it is from the UI5 update to. 322 or if it happened with the elk plugin update 1.1

Thanks
John

MCV made changes on how the alarm plugins are categorized in 1.5.322. They now have their own category. This is fixed in the upcoming release. You can download the public beta that contains this fix in the Public Beta 2.0 release thread.

I will upgrade to 2.0 and give that a try.

Thanks
John

Let me know how it works out. I will be making some changes to the UI of the alarm panel now that I have more screen area to work with.

I upgraded to beta on my google tv and everything seems to be working good. I am having problems with the non hd version on my cell. Connecting thru remote connection when i try to control my thermostats the app forces close. Another weird problem is i cant use it with local connection. When connected locally and go to turn a device on or off, the device will change state the app will shut down. When i open the app up again it crashes again. My cell is running 2.2.2

Thanks
John

That is very odd, can you clear the data for the app and see if that fixes your problem? I wonder if the data got corrupted. You can go into the AutHomation settings and under “Development” click on clear database.

  • Garrett

I did give that try and it made no difference. I also cleared the app data and reinstalled the app and still having the same problem.

Thanks
John

jwiz.

I uploaded a new beta. Can you give that a try and let me know if the crashes still occur? I have tested this on 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3 with out any issues. If it still happens, I would like to track this down.

  • Garrett

Will do.

Thanks
John

I installed the updated beta on my cell and everything appears to be working fine again. I got another question for you though. I have a velocity micro cruz tablet t301 and i have not been able to get ver 1 or 2 beta to work on it. As soon as i configure the connection it does a force close and forces close as soon as you reopen it until i clear the user data. Appears to be when its trying to retrieve the info from vera. I have the home buddy app on it running with no problem. The android ver is 2.2.1. Is the an error log or something i can goto to try see what is causing the issue.

Thanks
John

There is an app on the market called alogcat which allows you to look at the logs. Not sure if it can be downloaded from another source. So the latest beta build does not work on the velocity micro cruz? Not sure why it wouldn’t. I’ve tried it on 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3 with no problem like I stated before. Trying to think why it would crash when getting data. Can you try and doing a complete removal and reinstall of the latest beta?

  • Garrett

I have tried a complete removal a few times with the beta version and with version 1.4. The tablet does not have access to google market. I will see if I can find somewhere to download alogcat. I didnt know if there was a way to access a log thru usb debugging mode

Thanks
John.

You can access via USB, but requires downloading the Android sdk. So none of the versions of AutHomation work with the tablet? Let me get you the apk of alogcat, it is free, I’ll send you the file.

  • Garrett

Here is the download link direct from the developer.

http://code.google.com/p/alogcat/downloads/detail?name=alogcat-2.3.apk

When you install it, under the menu, click on filter and type in authomation. It should give you all the output on the app.

  • Garrett

I was able to find the app and installed it. The error I’m seeing is “E/dalvikvm( 1390): could not disable core file generation for pid 1390, errno=1” I saved a copy of the log file and I can send it to you if you like.

Thanks
John

Yes, please send me the error. I never seen that before, wonder if it is an Android OS issue. But the logs would help.

It might be. When filtering the log with authomation it does not show an error. I emailed the log file to you with no filter enabled. I tried opening authomation 3 times.

Thanks
John

Should have read this before replying back to your email. Did the app crash when opening it?

Jwiz,

I looked at the logs and see no sign of why the app well not run on your tablet. How it’s it running on your phone. Any issues?
