ECOlink sensors automatically trigger unwanted alarms on UI7

So I finally bit the bullet today and did the painful migration from UI5 to UI7.
After messing around and getting my system to where it was, with all the scenes etc, I came to discover an added benefit of UI7.
Somehow all of my ecolink door and motion sensors have a functionality which triggers my Everspring siren when tripped armed without having the need of setting them up as a scene.
The Everspring sensors I have do not have these in Advanced/Variables. I don’t know if it was there before but it never functioned this way on UI5.
I was using my ecolink garage sensor as a trigger to turn on lights outside the garage and to save power, I had it do it only when it was armed. I would arm the sensor only after dusk and disarm it at dusk. Now every time I open the garage door at night, my siren goes off and I get a burglary notification in my email.

How do I turn this off? It is nice for people who want it to work this way but it isn’t my case. It seems like it has gotten a bit too smart?

I have no app installed whatsoever by the way and no scene linking the siren to the garage door sensor.

At the top of the page, where it says ‘My Modes’, click the > next to it.
In the ‘choose sensors to arm’ column below Home, is the sensor listed as Armed? If so, set it to disarm. Same for the Night column. That may fix your problem. I can’t test it myself as I don’t have a siren.

Ahh, never paid attention to this page… I am in home mode all the time and all the sensors are set to disarmed. However it sets the siren as armed if an armed sensor tripped and I am arming the sensor at night through a scene to turn the light off. I am not sure this will do it since I have no notification setup on this page either but the vera did send me a notification saying the sensor (which it thinks is a motion sensor) as sensed motion. The log shows a blurglary alarm!
I also looked at the advanced panes of these Ecolink sensors and they are all associated with one another with difference association IDs. The everspring all under one number, the ecolink under 2 different ids. I didn’t do any of this. I also added another siren for another part of my house and this one shows up as an on off switch. The two sirens are identical so why is one configured as an alarm siren and the other an on off switch?

When you did the ‘add a device’ did you select Alarms → Everspring siren both times? Or did you use a different device?

Haha found the trick!!!

No the first device was migrated from my UI5 setup. I did not restart from scratch but I discovered this by comparing all the advanced parameters and settings:

Cat 3, subcat 0 is a switch. You can change the icon by changing the json file but not changing the cat/subcat will still make it behave as its category device.
A siren at least the ever spring one is a cat24, subcat 0.

Now the notifications were turned on so this is most likely it. UI7 is not going to let me do exactly what I was doing with UI5 but I am going to test geofencing and see how it goes.
