dyndns setup for vera3

I am very experienced with port forwarding and dyndns. This vera3 is however making me look like a big dummy. Part of the problem is the terrible UI, which I have already figured out from other posts is terrible.

I have set the ip to static in the vera web interface, and forwarded port 80 on the router. I cannot however access the vera. Where can I change the port number for the Vera?

And on a side note, what is the deal with the verifications to post? I almost couldn’t become a member!

Thanks, Victor.

No! Do NOT do this. Everyone in the world can see and control your Vera just by visiting your public IP address, without any password protection.

If you want to access your Vera from the Internet, either set up a VPN behind your router, or use getvera.com’s portal. Both use encrypted, password-protected connections.

The post verifications disappear after you have made a handful of posts. Sorry. It keeps the spam down.

I have a barracuda firewall with special restrictions on port 80, so we are good there. I have not been able to get the getvera.com to work. One thing that I’m not sure about. When I log on to cp.mios.com as per the manual, it comes up and says no veras are on your account. It lists the vera that is on the local network, and has an add button. Even though I click add, it still says add every time I log in. Is this normal? This may be the problem?

What version is your Vera firmware? 1.5.x and below are accessed through cp.mios.com. 1.6.x and up are accessed through home.getvera.com. Each site has independent logins so an account on one is not visible on the other.
