Do the dsc wireless door sensors have the same 6 second delay as the wireless motion sensors when used with Vera?
No, the door sensors are instant.

I have never seen a 6 second delay from the motion/door sensors in my setup.
At most maybe 1 full second. Maybe your Z-Wave network is sparse and they are having to re-transmit multiple times … that should run down the batteries faster as well.
Richard, he is referring to the DSC wireless motion sensors and not the z-wave ones.

I though he was questioning the speed of DCS wireless sensors compared to Z-Wave wireless sensors.
Yes I am hoping to use wireless door sensors from the DSC as they cost quite a bit less than what I can find zwave ones for.
Go with DSC! I installed the plunger sensors in all my doors and plantation shutters.
No more routing issues, heals breaking sensors, etc. My network has improved tremendously since I made the switch.

Do the DSC sensors work without a DSC alarm system, ie: do they communicate directly with versa?
