DSC Smoke Alarm on PGM2 - integration help?

Hi All,

I just had a smoke detector relay wired to my DSC 1616 panel on PGM2. I know there has been some chatter about similar setups on this forum, but I couldn’t find any resolved cases as to how to setup triggers on the Vera when the smoke detectors are tripped.

I’ll appreciate any pointers,

If you watch this video, you’ll see how a DSC is typically wired to a smoke sensor:

it also explains what the PGM is used for (etc). At the end of the day, the Smoke will be attached to a Zone, and you’ll need to configure/register that Zone within the DSC Plugin.

Typically you do this by listing the [new] Smoke Zone in the [tt]SmokeZones[/tt] parameter (and only there, it cannot also be listed under [tt]MotionZones[/tt] or [tt]DoorZones[/tt])

This will then show up as a new Zone device in Vera, and standard scenes can be applied.
