Hello, I am a new Vera user and have it up and working along with my DSC PC1832. On the web interface I have Devices for the DSC Alarm Panel, System, and my 5 Zones (I removed the 6th since I only have 5 zones). The System device has buttons for Arm, Stay, Force, and Disarm, and they all seem to work fine.
On my Android phone I installed Vera Mobile, and I can see all my devices, and the 5 Zones, but the DSC Alarm Panel and the System devices don’t show up anywhere. Do I have to create scenes to be able to arm and disarm the system thru the Android app?
Also, in another thread someone posted a picture showing Quick Arm, or maybe it was Instant Arm, but I don’t see that anywhere. I don’t absolutely need it, but it would be nice to know if I’m missing something in my setup.
Thanks!
If Vera Mobile doesn’t show it, then you will need to create scenes.
Alternately you could use AutHomation by @Garrettwp instead, which does support alarms better
I installed AutHomation and sure enough I can see the alarm system. I was going to try out the other apps at some point, so thanks for the tip.
Do you know if it’s possible to hide some of the alarm zones? For example I’d never bypass my windows or doors, so I’d just as soon not see them where I might accidentally disarm one.
Well the arm/bypass button in the plugin doesn’t actually bypass anything in the panel, its just there within Vera so that you can have a scene execute or not depending on whether the sensor is armed or bypassed in Vera.
So pressing it by accident will only affect any scenes that have the sensor as a trigger.
If you want to hide them anyway, the best way to do it is put them in a room somewhere.
