DSC EVL3 setup and arm/stay from app

I just installed a DSC 1832 with an EVL3 and everything seems to be working well. Took some trial and error but finally got there. One hint if you are having problems with the EVL3 and the setting in the app is to put the port number (4025 by default) at the end of the ip address (i.e. 192.168.0.1:4025). That seems to force the plugin into understanding that it is an EVL3 rather than the IT100. For some reason pressing the button for “Envisalink 2DS” didn’t seem to save all the time. Putting the port in seems to have fixed it.

On to my question, has anyone had trouble using the Arm button on the Partition 1 device? I can get the Stay button to work fine, and I can get the Arm button to work fine from within the plugin settings but the Arm and Force buttons on the front of the device don’t seem to do anything. I should have mentioned that I tried both “Stay” and “Arm” in the EnableRemoteArm field and it didn’t seem to make a difference.

I had a similar problem and updating the variable EnableRemoteArm fixed it. Go to Advanced under the DSC Alarm Panel device and change the variable EnableRemoteArm to disarm.

Keep in mind that anyone with access to your controller will not have full control of your alarm system.

Thanks WhiteBeard. I was trying to avoid the ability to Disarm the system other than from the keypad. Seems risky. I tried Stay and Arm in the Advanced tab which I would have thought would work but no luck. I’m starting the system up next week so I’ll give it another shot then. Thanks for the reply.

Beerguy - I am fairly sure you can change from Stay to Away by sending *0 to your panel (pretty sure it is *0). I did this a while back from the eyezon portal when I was setting up my system.

I have to simple scenes that use the quick arm feature that doesn’t require a pin code. Also, my EnableRemoteArm = arm.

Attached are two screenshots from my scenes I use for away arm and stay arm.
