I can see the status of my partition on the veralite web page – but I have no visibility into it from the iphone app.
I set up a scene to change the armed/stay/disarm status, and that works – but what have people been doing to display the current status?
I even added a trigger to my arm/stay/disarm scenes that checks for its own status (which is kind of recursive, but doesn’t seem to cause a problem), but the app just now shows all three scenes active with a checkmark.
What’s the best way to do this (besides email pushes)? Should I buy one of the push notification tools and use that plugin? The alternative automation/vera app for iphone?
Thanks,
Rich
Why not look into using Automator.app or HomeWave? Pay the few dollars and support the developers on this forum. You have other advantages and they both support the DSC plugin.
The main reason is that I can’t test drive them on iPhone, hence the request for recommendations.
I’ve looked a little at both – are those pretty much the only options worth looking at? I hope they are quite a bit more sophisticated that the free Vera one.
I’ve seen good things about both – any particular pros and cons for each? I assume their both good, but each must have its own strengths.
I think I’m mostly looking for the best DSC integration…
Rich
Both are very good Vera apps but if you after DSC reporting you can use the Eyez On mobile link to do this as well.
I won’t say one is better than the other app because they both provide good capabilities to users. The interface and control on Homewave is more user configurable and Automator provides notification capability.
I actually have the eyes-on mobile portal (and the direct link to the internal webpage via its IP) embedded as a web-links in SQ remote and works very well for showing the panel status.
