That’s spooky ! I was only yesterday looking for such a solution, a video, intercom, bell/ringer device for the front door (door entry/release are optional). I personally had the idea of using a SIP entry system so it could call me anywhere in the world (products like this ProTalk SIP Door entry phones | ProVu Communications)

Maybe the question (or should i say plugin desire) is more generic ? is this sort of device something people want working with Vera ?

Personally speaking, YES ! I think this area is missing on Vera, yes there are locks, door bells, cameras etc. but I don’t recall seeing a single device that does the above that’s supported. However I did see a post a while back where someone had integrated a similar device to Doorbot… I’ll have a dig and see if I can find that one.

wait till they start shipping first. Crowd-funded projects are infamous for delays, bugs, and falling short of expectations :frowning:

DoorBot’s been installed for about a week now and it’s GREAT! I sent an e-mail to Doorbot asking them if we can integrate it into the Vera. Would be great if I could lock and unlock from the doorbot app rather than switching to SQremote every time and losing visual of my friends at the door and not being able to tell them I unlocked it.

the video and audio quality is poor, I thought to buy it but after i read few reviews I guess I’ll wait for something with higher quality

The video and audio are OK considering it is on wifi and battery powered. Definitely not as clear as I thought it would be. I had no idea it’s already compatible with Staples HA System.

i have foscam cameras that work on wifi with image of 720P and great audio quality and there is no problem with the wifi connection, wifi can stream 1080P with no problem

and for the battery, the foscam have also motor and in the max it take up to 9W, and you can also connect the doorbot to the existing doorbell power

and the worse thing is that you cant watch the camera without someone pressing the button

i think better solution is to buy foscam camera (9821 for 110$ or even older model fir 50-60$) and add zwave doorbell, than when someone pressing the button it will lunch the camera app in the phone (don’t know how to do it with iphone, but in android you can do it with veralert and tasker)
