I am going to have a video camera (Hikvision + BlueIris) at the front door and a Schlage Camelot touchscreen lock. I am also looking for a doorbell. The main goals for the overall door control is:
- When away or at home immediately see on my phone/tablet/TV a live video of what is happening. With “immediately” I mean that I should not have to start an app but the app is automatically activated. This process should be triggered not only when the door bell is pressed but also when there is movement.
- Recording of video whenever there is movement or the door bell is pressed.
- Ideally, have two views, one from my camera and one from a camera integrated into the doorbell
- Two way communication with the person at the door is nice but not absolutely necessary.
- If possible, being able to unlock the door directly from the same app where the video is being displayed. It won’t happen often that I want to do this so this isn’t a hard requirement.
The basic stuff is actually already possible due to using that extra camera and BlueIris (recording, detect movement). However, I am wondering if there is some more advanced and SEAMLESS integration of a video doorbell, vera and lock control.
