Door lock battery level never reports 100%

I have both Kwikset and Yale locks deployed. I only use Enloop batteries in these locks. The batteries are charged using either a La Crosse BC-700 or a Powerex Maha MH-C801D using 200ah charge settings. Both chargers report the battery charge level at 100%, but when installed in the locks, the charge state is always 80%. I’ve tested with brand new batteries as well as batteries that have been sent through a deep discharge recycle and the result never changes.

Is anyone else seeing this behavior?

Most likely due to the 1.2 voltage and not the standard 1.5 you get with standard AA batteries. I use eneloops in my locks (kwikset) and they also report 80%.

Thanks. I didn’t consider the voltage difference. I’ll test with a few 1.5v to confirm.

If you do the math, 1.5 x .80 = 1.2. :slight_smile:

heh, yeah, I got that. Just never thought about it (forgot the Eneloops were 1.2).
