There was a bug in the Z-Wave firmware which affected all Z-Wave controllers causing some unreliability. When Zensys/Sigma fixed this we began a dongle recall program to start replacing Vera’s black dongles, which is what has the Z-Wave module. We shipped out several hundred of these new replacement dongles. Unfortunately an unacceptably high percentage of the new dongles have exhibited a ‘freeze’ issue where the light on the dongle stops blinking. We are at the moment trying to determine if it’s another bug in the Z-Wave firmware, or a manufacturing defect. Either way, correcting the problem is obviously our top priority and we have stopped taking orders for replacement dongles at the moment while we identify the cause of the problem. Hopefully within 2 weeks we will have identified the problem and can resume the dongle recall.
