Vera 1 running fw 1.1.124. Been working fine and suddenly my scenes stopped working. When I login to Vera I see the status window in the top right goes from “server busy” to “ZWave failed to start” to “No ZWave dongle”.
I tried plugging the dongle into my PC (after installing the drivers) and it seems to be recognized, but I have no utilities to test it.
Is this problem likely to be the dongle or could there be something wrong with Vera?
When plugged into Vera it stays lit solid. If I remove it from Vera it will flash if I press the button and stop when I press it again (so it appears inclusion mode is working, but I haven’t tested that).
The problem started a few days ago … around the time the Vera servers were unreachable. It seems to me that it must have worked again for part of one day because I received some email alerts for my Schlage lock being operated (which is normal, but would only work if it could talk to Vera). By the time I was home it seemed to be down again.

If you use SSH, watch the CPU and LuaUPnP process and see if you see the same as I did.
CPU will start climbing and the LuaUPnP process will drop to ~5%. Vera is now rebooting, you will see “Server busy” in the dashboard, followed by the No Z-Wave or Z-Wave failed to start message.
Just clicking Save on the dashboard (restarting the engine) and you have Z-Wave back, but then shortly after (30 - 45 mins in my case) it will happen again.
I haven’t heard from tech support and not sure if they did something, but mine has been working fine today. Last reboot was 23 hours ago. I did nothing to it.
Actually in terms of things that changed something did occur to me. The problem started happening right after I got an HP TouchPad and started using it around the home. Vera provides my wireless and I had noticed that it didn’t always seem happy (dropped connections). The day it started to work again I had taken the TouchPad to work.
Don’t know if this could cause an issue, but mentioning it because many people may have picked up the firesale Touchpad.
