I have downloaded the file from the previous post and it works great! Thanks… I have installed another camera of the same type…but…its mounted upside down. Currently, up is down, left is right and so on. I tried creating a new luup file reversing only the command numbers. It does not work. Can someone help me out with how to “reverse” the commands? ???
Changing the button assignments in the Luup file to flip up and down should work, it maybe that you’re not uploading the changes and hitting Save. I could make the up button be my patrol button, for instance.
Were you able to flip the camera image using the browser GUI for the camera?
Ok thanks to this forum, I got the cam up and running.
Its also set up on my Vera2 and working so thank you.
I do have a question regarding the Foscam setup page.
I’m trying to set up the email alert thing for the motion detector so it can record when motion detected and send the email.
I keep getting failure when I test the email settings.
Does anyone happen to have any insight on that?
So i followed the instructions and have it responding to the commands, but for some reason the “left” and “right” commands are reversed. Any ideas? The up and down work fine - but then when I hit left the camera goes right.
Any ideas?
I have the same problem when I mount me camera upside-down, but both directions are reversed on mine. All we need to do is modify the file as described in the very first post, you could just download the file I uploaded near the bottom of the first page of this thread and open it in a text editior and copy/paste the commands to different buttons in the UI.
Using this method, you could easily make the Zoom button your up or reverse left and right so it works as you need it to. Let me know if you have trouble.
I have a Panasonic pan/tilt IP cam. It works fine with the Verde2 but it’s very expensive $$$!
I found the Foscam on amazon and bought it for $95. I received it the other day and it’s a great camera with an awesome price.
I found this post to get it to work, but I haven’t tried yet because I have one question:
If I implement this fix for the Foscam, does my Panasonic camera stop working with the Verde2?
thanks in advance.
If you modify the panasonic files then I’m pretty sure it’ll prevent the panasonic plugin working.
You should be able use the panasonic files as a base though and create a new plugin with a new unique name etc. I’m sure somebody else has done this already.

Yeah, I ended up doing exactly that. Now both my Panasonic and Foscams work.
Does anyone know of a way to increment the distance of rotation per click of the camera?
For instance, when I click move left it barely moves the camera… I’d like to increase the distance of the rotation when I click left or right.

I think you need to play with the value of the “onestep=1” param. Here’s the SDK reference, but they don’t address what “onestep” does:

I am sorry guys but i have silly question:
where i can find •6. Download ‘Devices’ → ‘Luup plugins’ → ‘Luup files’: I_PanasonicPTZ.xml
for love of god i can’t find it in my vera
You may have to install it form the Mios Market place first! you can find that by clicking the “+” symbol to the right of the screen on the opposite of the side where it says “MiOS Marketplace”
I just checked it and there is no such a plug in, i have installed plugin’s for Panasonic Camera and Generic IP Camera
Try MiOS developers → Luup files
I noticed in my recent network rebuild on Vera2 that when I went to manually add my Foscam to the system as described in this thread, shortly after UI4 goes ahead and auto-installs the Foscam using the Generic IP Camera Plug-In. Even though I’d delete it and try to use the Panasonic modified plug-in, it would keep returning. So I gave in and made the same changes to the Generic IP Camera Implementation file and let Vera have it way. If you see the Generic Implementation file (I_xxx.xml) you can modify that field and use that plug-in.
Somwhere in recent firmware updates Vera started auto-discovering and installing the Foscams for you (well at least half way installed).
thank you!
i followed the steps and still no luck.
the camera ip is 10.10.13.19 and when i try to connect to http://10.10.13.19/snapshot.cgi i cant connect. cameras are working fine without vera.
another thing i can’t find the “startup messages” where it would say if camera was installed properly. the step #7.
I am sorry guys if i sound stupid, but i just got vera.
I think you’re saying that when you paste that URL in a broser, it works?
So what did you put where in Vera? The IP (10.10.13.19) goes in the IP field. The /snapshot.cgi part is considered the URL.

no it does not work.
does the port matter? cause i am using port 8019 for the camera[/quote]
OK; so what did you mean when you said the cameras are working fine without Vera?
Anyway, make sure you get it working in a browser first.
Sounds like you need to try http://10.10.13.19:8019/snapshot.cgi .
