Dimmer Switch for LEDs

I see people saying this but I have several in two houses, in 2 different states, using different LED bulbs working without a problem as long as you follow the directions. They can’t dim 1 or 2 LED bulbs.

I know there is a 3 wire now, But its not available locally yet like the 2 wire is. And I know there is much better switches for a higher price. But I still stand behind them for a cheap solution if you follow the instructions! I feel they get a BAD rap for people who don’t read the directions and have a big enough load for them. But I wont argue that there is better switches out there if you want to drop the MONEY on them or need instant status, different look, or different color.

Any chance you know the answer to my questions on the instant on? My evolve switch wont go above the prior dimmed level with out holding it.

I would prefer to be able to go from off or current dim level to instantly full bright… (I used to have Lutron non-zwave that did this with a double tap).

Does the Cooper do that? … currently dimmed, press “on” it goes full bright? Thanks.
Jordon,

Push, hold for ~3 seconds until you see a double blink and release and it goes to full bright. I"m using RF9540-N.

Thank ya, ill give it a try!
My recommendation is to forget about screw terminals and use one of the following dimmers that supports LEDs. I’d also suggest reading up on the Instant Status feature, which is available only on the dimmers below the dotted line:

Linear WD500Z-1 500-watt Wall Mount Dimmer Switch
Leviton DZMX1-1LZ Scene Capable Universal Dimmer

Leviton VRMX1-1LZ 1000W Universal Magnetic Low Voltage Dimmer
Cooper RF9540-NAW Aspire Single-Pole Master Dimmer Light Switch
Leviton VRE06-1LX 600W Electronic Low Voltage Scene Capable Dimmer
I did some reading on the Instant Status feature as you suggested. I’m leaning towards one of the less expensive switches without the Instant Status feature. One thing I am not clear on…if I don’t really need “instant” status updates, will the Vera3 pick up the switches’ status on the next polling cycle? I don’t intend to use either of these switches as triggers for anything but I’d like to see their status after a few minutes or so.

Yes.

Perfect. Thanks!

More devices you have the longer it takes to go around the circle of all of them and poll each one. So some times could take a 2-5 min or so (usually less tho) but yes it will update.

The only really problem is sometimes when your using them as a trigger and want a fast response (as you said you won’t be). People want one switch to turn on more then one light or switch at a time. Then when they do this one turns on and the other has a 30 sec or min. delay before the other light turns on or off.

I’m my case I used the cheaper switches and figured if I was doing something like this then I’ll just upgrade 1 or 2 of the switches to instant status at that time. With 60 switches instant status was double the price and not available locally from LOWES like my GE were. The savings was worth it for me in my case.
