Was looking at the evolve EV-LRM-AS and was wondering of anyone here has used them.
Seems to me from what I have read that you can do a simple on and off OR you can dim with this switch.
So if what I think is correct…why do they sell the EV-LSM-15 (not a dimmer) at all?
If you can do on and off with it why sell another product that does only on and off for the exact same price?
I guess I’m just trying to see if I’m missing something here because if I’m not this makes no business sense to me.
Some things aren’t dimmable - and therefore shouldn’t be attached to a dimmer. Likewise the switch handles larger loads than the dimmer. By the way - I haven’t tried them. They don’t get a mention in Vera’s list: http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Supported_Hardware but there’s a good chance they will work, as their functionality is widely found in other similar devices. Let us know the outcome.
I was not aware of the load carrying difference. That makes a bit of sense.
Non dimmable could be an easy fix in a smart switch though.
I was just wondering why produce two products when one does the job of both, but they aren’t as similar as the website I found them on made them seem.
Thanks for the reply!
