Does anyone know if it is possible to set the brightness level (or to recall the previous brightness level) of a dimmer via Vera when the switch is turned on?
Vera always seems to reset the dimmer to 100% brightness when the switch is turned on via the web client. When the dimmer is turned on manually, it retains the previous settings.
Vera does not remember the last level value. What you notice is a feature of the switch and not vera. The switch will return to the previous set level when manually triggered.
For all my scenes that are triggered by a motion sensor, I have the lights go back to their previous level, just like motion sensors do (by default) when controlling the lights directly rather than through Vera.
Those scenes don’t have any devices selected, but instead use the Luup tab to turn the lights on. Example:
You use the [tt]NodeID[/tt] of the device; so the number shown as [tt]ID[/tt], not [tt]Device #[/tt], on the [tt]Settings[/tt] tab of the device. The example is for node 164.
Also, on the [tt]Advanced[/tt] tab of those tab, I do a poll of the device after 5 seconds, so Vera gets the current dim level.
(The purpose of said bug report is to have MCV think about implementing something like this.)
