I have a number of DHS double light modules (DHS-ZW-swim-01) on my Vera 3 UI7 controller.
When I included them onto ui7 only one device appeared on the dashboard - previously with Vera, 2 devices appeared on the dashboard, one for each channel. Have I missed something in the inclusion process or is this functionality no longer supported within UI7?
I had included the device previously under UI5 and it worked correctly, a parent device and two children. However, under UI7 when I include I only get a single device and it continuously displays “Please Wait! Getting Multichannel info” and the child devices never appear.
I have a call open with tech support but it has been open for over a month and is unresolved. I’ll advise if I make any progress!
PS. I do have other AEON labs double switches that work correctly, so the functionality is supported … it appears to be a configuration issue with the DHS double switch devices.
I only have the one, I purchased it from Digital Home Systems back in April 2013. I’ve spoken to them and they have generously offered to accept a return and look in to it if I don’t have any luck with the support call. I was close to giving it up as a faulty unit and doing that until I saw this post.
It originally was working in UI5 and worked through the upgrade process to UI7. However I reconfigured things and removed it from the network. When I went to re-include it was when I struck the problems with only the parent device being created.
… this does not bode well … my first module in my first Vera3 !!!
Added a DHS-LIT-SWW-DHS-02 double inwall module to my brand new Vera3. (been bench testing other modules fine)
Press the 2 switches wired to key1 & key2 work fine, each controls its respective load, with or without connection to Vera3
Once paired with Vera3, I get three “devices” (see pic)
In Vera online interface;
– click iModuleDouble will switch both loads on and off together … fine
– click the first iAppliance_Module and first load switches on and off … fine
– click the second iAppliance_Module and second load switches on and off … fine
Go to the pushbuttons and then watching happens on Vera online interface;
– Press first button, both iModuleDouble and the first iAppliance_Module change status to ON … fine
– Press second button, only iModuleDouble changes status to ON … WTF ???
– The second iAppliance_Module won’t change state not matter what I try.
I can’t write the second pushbutton into a scene
Very very annoyed !
I read somewhere this issue was introduced in UI7. I can’t remember which firmware version specifically. I’d raise a ticket with Vera support to make sure they are aware of the issue.
Did you ever find a solution for this? I have a Vera Lite UI7 and 2 x DHS in wall module light switches i’m about to install. Should I be returning them for modules that work with UI7? Or trying to downgrade the Vera to UI5?
My DHS-ZW-SWIW-01 (In-Wall Double Switch Controller) worked beautifully in UI5 until upgrading Vera3 to UI7 and doing an exclusion/inclusion. The first device was there and working, called ‘iModuleDouble’ by default, but the 2 embedded switches were missing.
I have SOLVED this by manually re-adding the missing 2 channels [embedded devices] at completion of the inclusion.
This is the process that worked for me:
Save a BACKUP of the Vera config!!
If the main ‘iModuleDouble’ device doesn’t yet exist, do the inclusion (can do this in Vera’s interface DEVICES>ADD DEVICE>OTHER DEVICES) and follow the prompts - fairly straightforward in UI7 since upon any failure it should run through the exclusion process and reinclusion with you automatically.
Once included, navigate Vera interface to APPS>DEVELOP APPS>CREATE DEVICE.
In the Create Device form, change the PARENT DEVICE selection to the ‘iModuleDouble’ device or to what ever you named your DHS in-wall switch at inclusion. If newly included this device should be at the very bottom of the list.
Fill out the remainder as below:
Device type = urn:schemas-upnp-org:device:BinaryLight:1
Internal ID = e1
Description = <name your first bell-press switch>
Upnp Device Filename = D_BinaryLight1.xml
Upnp Implementation Filename = <leave blank>
IP address = <leave blank>
MAC = <leave blank>
Room = <your room>
Carefully check the above values again - if all look ok press CREATE DEVICE button.
Repeat steps 4 to 6 changing the Internal ID to ‘e2’ with description of your second bell-press switch.
Once both embedded devices are created, the devices won’t appear until you force a reload of the LUUP engine. I’m not sure the official way to Reload LUUP in UI7, the easiest way I found from UI7 web interface is browse into a random device and go into ADVANCED settings>NEW SERVICE>RELOAD ENGINE.
After reload, browse into Vera devices and make sure both the [e1 and e2] embedded devices are working. Otherwise restore your backup and try again.
That’s it… It worked for me.
There are a couple of minor issues still existing with this work around:
There is no state tracking [or ‘interlocking’] between the main device state and either of the embedded devices states. So if you operate the controlling device, iModuleDouble, OFF>ON both relays will operate simultaneously as they should but the switches e1 and e2 device states are still shown as “OFF”. This wasn’t the case in UI5 so there’s still something missing from the settings- not sure what?! Safest solution for me was only use the e1 and e2 devices and don’t place the main device in scenes.
‘iModuleDouble’ device still shows the red “Please Wait! Getting Multi Channel info…” warning however it doesn’t impair function so it’s just an annoyance.
I’m keen to hear if others’ find this method successful in UI7 for the various other models - if so please reply with your DHS product code here so we know what works and what doesn’t!

Quite an old thread here. Wondering if anyone has a solution yet? I have a VeraEdge with latest UI7 version installed. Seeing the same as the above
Those devices are gen 3 Z-Wave, so it would be doubtful that any problem had been fixed.
UI7 is primarily designed for Z-Wave Plus and while it should work retrospectively, there is never any guarantee.
I just maintain 2 different systems UI5 & UI7 knowing that my old devices while carry on working and any new devices should work OK on UI7
