So I decided to remove my PLEG scripts and then replce them with ones that work better - they did.
Then I added a 2nd Schlage Lock to the network. It added the lock but wouldn’t ocnfigure it. I ran a heal overnigt and about 1/3 of my devices are no longer configured. It’s a mixed bag - some motion sensors (battery operated) and some Aeon smart switches.
Any thoughts? What can I do to try to get this working again?
I had the same. Try waking up your battery operated devices manually, that helped recover a lot of mine. Others just needed a lot longer and they came back by themselves
Like @mikee123, I have had this happen. I fixed it by waking up each battery-operated device and then immediately clicking the Configure node right now button on its Settings tab.
The mains-powered devices may just need a click of their Configure node right now.
Glad I’m not the only one… How do you manually wake up a motion sensor? Just walk in front of it? For the smart switch devices, do they need to be on for this? I did a configure now for switches and it just says “getting Name” and then nothing.
I’m doing a heal w/ stress test… getting a lot of “Current status: Stage 4 of 7 Calculating route for node 72 round 0 of 4Node 72 0 good routes out of 0”.
For the aeon switches, I get “Unable to get any information on node” when trying to configure now.
There’s usually a button somewhere - often inside the battery compartment. Sometimes it doubles as the anti-tamper switch. It may need one or more clicks to wake it up so better check the instructions for your sensor.
For the smart switch devices, do they need to be on for this? I did a configure now for switches and it just says "getting Name" and then nothing.
The don’t need to be on but obviously must be powered. It sounds as though they have fallen off the mesh. This could be as a result of the failed heal. I would try healing them individually to see if that fixes them. Worst case, you could always exclude and re-include them.
I no longer perform system-wide heals. I have had too many incidences of it making things worse rather than better. Vera does not seem to know how to heal battery-operated devices properly. I now heal any devices I have moved - or are showing problems - individually and get better results.
I did do a system wide heal… it got everything but two devices, both aeon smart switches. Really perplexed at why those two won’t get found… I deleted them and re-added them just fine, but then it says “Unable to get any information on node”.
I tied doing a heal just based on their ID, but same thing.
So today, they both magically appeared working… so everything is back to normal. The heal report shows every device with 0 stars, but they are all working.
Funny thing about what you said about moving vera closer to the devices… I have my vera unit in the basement of a 2 story house, and I was able to pair every device without moving vera from the basement location – seemed odd because of all of the posts I read about vera having to be close to the devices…
