I’m new to the board and considering purchasing a Vera. What I need it to do mainly is turn on devices at certain times of the day which sounds simple but I just wanted to double check to make sure. Can someone verify please that Vera can (via z-wave enabled devices):
Turn on (or down) a thermostat at 2pm
Turn it off (or up) at 2:30pm
Turn a different thermostat on (or down) at 2:35pm
Turn it off (or up) at 2:55pm
Same as above for various other devices, just on/off at certain times of the day.
I’m assuming it can easily handle something like this from what I’ve been reading on here but just wanted to double-check.
I am sure you’ll be adding other fun things to Vera in no time. Thermostats are a big draw and usually get the wife’s permission for this purchase, but having total control of as much as possible is what man dreams are made of.

Ahhah! Busted!
I totally have the other half’s permission on this one, there is a company selling a “black box” locally that does the same thing for $4k and doesn’t do any of the other stuff like cams etc. I already have systems for IP cams, alarm system etc. so if Vera is as good as it looks; I’ll switch everything over to it. I already ordered 5 light and appliance modules and 2 Trane thermostats to do some testing. I’m a total geek so I can see me having everything wired in to the system in a few weeks if it’s reliable.
Good luck with the new setup! I am totally addicted to my setup and wish I had the funds right now to switch everything completely over. To have the power of full control of your home in the palm of your hands and even remotely is a dream come true! I am also a total geek and the more technology in my life the better!
