Device A to Mirror Device B - lighting dim level, on/off, etc

Richard created this example… (and relies on instant status reporting devices).

Example using: two Light devices; they need instant status for this to be work properly.

Desired Result: ‘Light 1’ turns on to Dim Level N … ‘Light 2’ will mimic and set to Dim Level N

PLEG…

Inputs Properties:
Light1Level Light 1 LoadLevel Status
Light2Level Light 2 LoadLevel Status

Conditions:
NewLight1Level Light1Level
NewLight2Level Light2Level

Actions:
NewLight1Level1 Set the Level for Light2 to 50% then in the advanced tab (in actions) change 50 to {(Light1Level)}
Similarly for NewLight2Level

If you have instant status lights you don’t even need PLEG. I have Cooper Aspire dimmers and they directly associate to each other to mimic dimming of two separate light circuits. I can turn on, off, or dim either switch, and the lights on both circuits follow each other.

That’s not really an instant status feature … but using Z-Wave associations.
This will work even for devices that can not be connected via associations … or for people that do not have the ability to setup associations.

Richard, true, but almost every Z-wave switch I know of that has instant status also has association capability, ie, Leviton and Cooper.
