Dead vera2?

I purchased a vera2 about a month ago. I set it up with the wizard and upgraded the firmware. Everything seemed to be OK. I moved locations about a month later (but still had the same router & network gear), and now it seems to be playing dead. The following lights are on all the time, regardless of buttons pushed or network cables plugged in: Power, Eth2, Wifi, USB1, USB2, Service. The Eth1 and Z-wave lights never come on. I’ve tried several working network cables, and connecting to the computer via Eth2. In all cases, the Vera2 doesn’t appear to use any networking - the lights on the switch never show it is connected. I’ve tried resetting the network by pressing reset 3 times quickly, but that doesn’t appear to make a difference.

I’ve submitted a support ticket, but does anyone have any ideas what to try next?

Interesting, I had the same symptoms.

@cninsd (Welcome!), @325xi,

Check this and get ready to reflash?

That’s right, you should try, but from my experience it can be hard to reflash Vera if its network interface doesn’t work

That’s my current concern. My power light is solidly on; after a boot, the ETH2, WIFI, ZWAVE, USB1/2, and SERVICE lights are all on for a few seconds, but then…bupkis. :-[

Not a good start. Hopefully I can get it working to contribute to the community (long-time lurker, first time poster).

I had mine replaced, now the new Vera2 still works, but hangs mysteriously uncomfortably often, and it takes longer then usual (or it seems so) to wake up once power-cycled. How long did you wait? In my case it took few minutes of no lights at all before it was up.

I’ve let it go longer than that, unfortunately. It was plugged in all day while I was at work with no response when I got home ready to tinker with it again. I’ve tried the unlabeled-black-button-double-press, the Zwave-button-triple-press, etc. several times. The solidly-lit power light suggests that all is well with the firmware, so we’ll see.

Anyway, I probably have a new brick, but I emailed support for help. Oh well, it was exciting for the hour or two that I had it. If nothing else, it’s a blow to my enthusiasm for the thing, having lurked the forums and wikis for months and made recent investments en route to the house for installation. Let’s hope MCV comes through.
