dataMine 0.966 is now available in the app store… This version has the following modifications -:
Version 0.966
[ul][li]Added value change detection on startup to reduce “lost data” while dataMine not running[/li]
[li]Fixed bug with fist data point on graph[/li]
[li]Changed handling of multiple axis if more than 2 data types selected[/li]
[li]Added timeout in the event that large data sets are requested[/li]
[li]Added ability for plugin to return errors to GUI[/li]
[li]Better handling of errors being returned by Vera[/li]
[li]Changed processing of default graph times[/li]
[li]Added configuration to set default graph period[/li]
[li]“Clear Channels” button now resets to default time period (renamed to “Reset Graph”)[/li]
[li]“Update Graph” button now uses previous time period[/li]
[li]Added feature to mount USB stick based on UUID instead of mount point[/li]
[li]Increased number of colours in energy gauge[/li][/ul]
Note that there are a few changes to the way the “update graph” button is handled - this may take a bit of getting used to. I think this is better, but I’m open to ideas if there’s a better way. The “update graph” button now keeps the same timeframe of the currently displayed graph.
You can change the default period with the following URL -:
<>/port_3480/data_request?id=lr_dmCtrl&control=saveConfig&graphDefaultPeriod= where is the number of days for the default graph time.
There’s now a feature to automount the USB if you have a USB hub which has previously been shown to cause problems. I’ll document this in the manual and update it shortly…
If you have any problems or queries, I’m happy to help…
1. If i see version 0.966 in the app section of vera, des this mean my app is “auto updated”?
2. is there any way to select more than 4 channels :-)???
Yes - I think so.
No - sorry, I did answer your other thread, but it’s not in this version. I’ll put this into the next version (sorry)… I agree that this is more than useful, so it’s at the top of the list…
I am having trouble getting 0.966 to work with usb-stick on a usbhub connected to my vera-lite.
Every time i reload it loses the mount to my usbhub?
Before i used /dev/sda1 as the mount location.
This does not seem to work any more?!
Hi,
It should work the same as it did previously, however @FireBird was having similar issues and found that with a USB hub with VeraLite, every time Vera started the hub would mount at a different point (see http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,13176.msg100359.html#msg100359). This version therefore has a new feature to combat this - I just haven’t finished off the document update yet… It uses the unique ID of the USB stick to find the mount point, so even if it changes, dataMine will find it (so long as you don’t change the USB stick).
Anyway, what you need to do is -:
Using WinSCP, or PuTTY, run the program “blkid”. This will print an output that looks like the following
/dev/sda1: UUID=“E205-372C”
You then need to make the following settings in dataMine -: SetMountPoint - leave blank SetMountUUID - the UUID as above - no quotes, just the text E205-372C
When dataMine starts, it will find the correct mount point for the USB stick, so if it changes, dataMine should find it. @FireBird kindly tested this for me, so it should work fine.
Just wanted to say that my DataMine autoupdated to .966 and my USB Drive (with USB hub) and UUID seems to still be working great. I’ve attached a screenshot of my settings.
Seems to be working for me now aswell!
But I had to set both UUID and mount point to to get it working.
If you set both values, it won’t work. It may look like it’s working, but if you have set the SetMountPoint variable, then this is what dataMine will use and the UUID feature will not work. When Vera restarts, if the mount point has changed, it won’t mount properly.
My UUID seems a lot larger than others have specified. Could this pose a problem?
Thanks for the output from blkid - I can see the problem. When I’ve looked at outputs from blkid previously, I’ve not seen the LABEL= part, so I’m not processing this correctly, and it’s therefore not finding the UUID (and therefore not mounting).
I’ll take a look at this - it will be easy to resolve…
If anyone has the same problem as @hek, which is caused by dataMine not processing the blkid response correctly when LABEL is in the response, then please use the file attached to this post.
To load it, go to Apps, Develop Apps, Luup Files. Select the file, click “Restart Luup” and hit go.

I think you get that when Vera has configured the USB to store logs. I had it, shut down Vera, pulled the USB, reformatted it in my Win7 PC (after recovering lost space using command prompt and DISKPART), labeled it dataMine, re-inserted it in Vera, ran PuTTy & blkid and populated UUID. Finally seems to be working.
