Current cost

Hi

Sorry this is probably a really easy thing, but I cant work out how to get my energy measurements to display in homewave properly. If I add as a sensor measurement, when I pick appliance 0 for whole house or an appliance monitor I get the current cost units temp showing in the centre and watts in the bottom left. What am i missing?

Cheers

Hi Borat,

I recommend using the “Multi Value” control (this control actually evolved out of an earlier energy monitor control). Add the control, link it to your monitor, and select the right services to display from the list.

Ok thanks. If I only want to display one value is there any way of getting that value to fill the area? I end up with a lot of unused space otherwise. If not, maybe something you can put in a future version?

Thanks

The upcoming version will have the option to display the value in an enlarged font (like the sensor controls)

Hi Intveltr,

I’m using Homewave to control my Veralite. In particular I can display from current cost plugin, the real time power usage , the hourly, daily and monthly cost, some historic data (Yesterday, last month, last two mont usage), obtained from some lua coding.

Is there any possibility to display the real time power usage (watt) as a gauge chart ? and the historic data as a bar chart ?

It’s not possible to display charts. This is a feature I’d like to add but it’ll be a while before I’ll get around to that

Ok thanks. Do you think this feature will be planned in the next version or the subsequent ?

Perhaps it would be easier to grab data and plug it into a companion iOS app like GRAPH.

it would be a nice touch. I’m always interested in looking at temperature and humidity trends in the house. I have to VPN in for all that today.

I think what intveltr is saying is that it will be some time before this gets implemented. I would not expect it in the next few releases.

Donto can I ask what cost plugin you use to display this info on home wave. I have my energy monitor and would love to get some of this info on it.

Hi Glebron,

I use PLEG and Variable Container plugin plus some lua coding based on hourly, daily and monthly variable of Current Cost plugin. On Homewave I display the value of calculation.

Did you do this your self or do you have any links as to how this was done?

Hi glebron,

I did by myself grabbing value from most recent value of currentcost plugin and storing new value in variable container
