CT100 Scheduling

I am looking for a how to to setup a schedule for my thermostat. It seems that I need to learn the Lua scripting language as such a basic function is not pre-built for thermostats on the Vera platform? I have Vera Lite and a 2Gig CT 100 thermostat and i just want to set up a daily program so my A/C will not run during the day when I’m not at home. Can someone point me in the right direction, I really am lost?

I have a veralite and a CT100 thermostat as well. We use the status of our alarm system to switch between “occupied” and “unoccupied” modes.

I guess the simplest way for you would be to simply create an “on” scene for the thermostat which sets the AC to a comfortable level when you’re home and an “off” scene which turns it down (or off) when you are not. Then you just set up the “schedules” in those scenes so those two modes match your routine. As basic as it gets.

You can then make it more complicated by getting Vera to use clues to determine when you are home or away. Ping Sensor plugin to let Vera know when you’re phone logs into your home wifi, geofences, interior motion sensors…the possibilities (while not endless) are rather varied.

You can just set the CT100 to off during the day, and auto/heat/cool at night. Auto/heat/cool would pick up the temps you last set, so you would have to work with that manually. No LUA required.
