Creating plugin for IR devices

Is there any examples and info on how to code my own IR plugins?

I got a WF2IR device and I need to have it work with the following:

[ol][li]Samsung LCD TV (not smart version)[/li]
[li]Epson 1080p Projector[/li]
[li]Pivos Aios media player[/li]
[li]Bell Expressvu Satellite receiver[/li][/ol]

Hello,

Below is a link and the thread will describe what and how. You could also try the embedded MCV process via Device > Add Device > Add an IR device. That should at least do some of you items.

The Epson that is under the Devices in Mios doesn’t work for my Projector and the Pivos one gives an error (I attached a screenshot). The rest seem to have worked.

With the espon, in the device tab it will give you the XML file name used. Modify that with the code leant from the itach

Oh OK good idea, so use iLearn get the codes and manually replace them in the xml? As for the Pivos, I found this file, can I use it somehow?

Yes, use ilearn to capture. Put them in a separate doc for the first round. Download the impl-file and modify using and XML editor.

Yes, that has the pronto codes. Two option create any similar device and modify or follow the instructions in the second link.

You can always raise a job to MCV for the error. Some have done this previously and had the issue rectified.

How do I know which file is for what device???

Nevermind found the answer

I am getting different lenght codes sequences from iLearn…none work. I’ll play with it today maybe I’ll get it to work…

This WF2IR is starting to become a PITA. I can’t freakin get it to control the Bell Expressvu, Pivos Aios media box, and Epson 3020 Projector.

I used Ilearn to get the codes but when tested they don’t do anything…its extremely frustrating. Is SQ Blaster as bad?

First rule of thumb: Don’t Panic.
Declaration:
I do not use Vera to control my IR devices but another program called iRule.

Continue…

Stick with one device first and stay within the GC toolset whilst doing the initial testing. Yes, the GC program enable after capture to test the code sending.

Some device need the ir code sent multiple times. When you do a test send play with this but try it on a number (eg. 2, 99) and another series of commands. This should determine what is required to be sent in Vera.

The easiest way to implement multiple send in Vera for now is copy and paste code set end to end. Eg 1234 5678 twice 1234 5678 1234 5678 type of thing.

OK after extensive testing, I finally managed to control almost all my devices using iRule. Only my Epson 3020 projector is giving me a hard time.

I just had a quick search on AVS. You might want to read follow the thread below.

Yeah its me

I created that thread on there…

The other good sources is always Remote Central

I would also raise a support ticket through iRule and see if they can help.

The details in the thread below are what you need to get too.

Been using iRule, love that app! Everything so far works well, and I love how I can make my own custom remotes…Here is a quick one I made for the Pivos Aios
