Creating device entries

Not sure if this is the right area.

I’m thinking about cloning D_HVAC_ZoneThermostat1 to enable support for the EmergencyHeatOn option in S_HVAC_UserOperatingMode1.xml. I’d rather make a new device rather than muck around with the existing files.
Changing the XML is pretty straightforward but I’m not familiar with JSON.

Are there any how-tos for this? If it matters I’m on UI5/Vera3.

I was going to suggest that you could just download the Virtual Panel plugin and create it in a panel. However, this plugin does not work with UI5.
