Creating a "virtual device"

How is it done?

I downloaded unpacked and uploaded the

D_StateDevice

and

I_StateDevice

file.

Rebooted luup 2 times…

When I goto MIOS developers and create device and enter

D_StateDevice-Into the line that says “UpnpDevFilename”

and

I_StateDevice-Into the line that says “UpnpImplFilename”

i get a funny looking icon of a blue orb coming out of a larger “cracked” blue orb…

What am I missing?

“D_StateDevice & I_StateDevice” are not the correct references.
Replace them with:
D_StateDevice.xml & I_StateDevice.xml

I made sure the “.xml” is on both the file names…

Still same icon. Broken orb.

Any other suggestions?

Where did you get the files from? We can start there and make sure you have the rights ones.
From what I remember (someone please correct me if I’m wrong) the working version was 0.1?

I got them from the 0.1. Went to the luup page.

Everything has been a breeze so far…

Can’t see why this wont work for me…

Is there a way to remove the files and re install them?

There is but… you can just upload the files again.

One more thing. Go to the Mios dev’s page and scroll through the installed files. It’s possible the browser caused an issue when uploading them, especially when using I.E.

The files should appear the same as you uploaded them. No extra characters.

Tried reloading with Mozilla, Chrome…

No luck.

Try creating a new device.
This time, only use D_StateDevice.xml to create it.
