Can I create a scene to open both of my Kwikset lock so I can control opening and locking? I seem to remember a problem with lock security or something.
I dont have kwikset but I can do so easily with the schlage locks I have, I would think it would work the same with kwikset.
I have scenes that control Kwickset locks, and many different types of trigger including one from a scene controller, so there should be no issue.
I believe the concern is that Z-Wave is ‘insecure’ — anyone can spoof the signal as if they were one of your scene triggers.
The communication between Vera and the Lock is said to be secure (difficult to spoof), but if you can unlock your door by insecure scene selection, then that’s lowering the bar.
I read somewhere that Vera actually blocks you from doing this (using an insecure event to trigger a door unlock). I haven’t verified.
It would be great if all transmitters/receivers were as secure as locks. Seems short-sighted.

I guess I didn’t complete the question. If a scene can be written, what would the command(s) be? In other words to turn a light on or off, you would set target to 1 or 0. How do you do it with your lock?

It describes how to assign a scene with the minimote, create a scene assign it to one of the buttons as that post describes then select the action that you want from your lock (lock or unlock)
