Could someone please tell me how to perform a restore in UI3....

Please put me out of my mysery…

I upgraded from UI3 to Ui4 which looked very nice, but I then discovered kills my squareconnect connection (outside of the network).

I have downgraded to UI3, all devices show.

PLEASE tell me HOW I can now restore from the back up I performed before trying out Ui4…

This is driving me NUTS.

Thanks all…

No response on my support ticket, nor I guess any of our audience here knows how to do it.

I have tried adding link t my back up files(s) from the update firmware option, which does not work - not unsurprisingly.

Unless anyone can give me a pointer, looks like I will be completely rebuilding my scenes and set up manually…

Great.

Where did you save your backup to?

I believe there are he automated backups on Vera servers, plus I have saved locally to laptop.

Thanks for your response, hoping you can point me in the right direction,…

There will be some backups online at findvera.com. I’ve never used them but you should be able to download them locally to a computer. Just be aware though that if you use one of the online ones and you pick the most recent then your vera may have already backed up an empty config and restoring from this does nothing.

When did you make the backup that you saved local? So long as it was prior to the UI4 update you did, then you should be OK to restore this.
So, I need to ask the obvious…You try the restore backup page and didn’t confuse this function with the firmware page? Below you wrote:

"I have tried adding link t my back up files(s) from the update firmware option" It looks like you may have been trying to use that?! That page is for firmware exclusively; for backups then you need to use the backups page; its in roughly in the same area as the firmware page, unfortunately I dont have UI3 anymore to confirm exactly where it is, but it one of the tabs there within the advanced section.

Thanks strangely…

I can access the online backups, and assume that clicking on one would start the process, it did/does not.

I tried using the firmware update process just out of desperation - not confusing the process per se.

My issues is, I cannot see ANYWHERE in UI3 where to conduct a restore process - its not that it doesn;t work, it’s that I cannot start the/a process. I am sure it is there somewhere, but I have not been able to find it. I could in UI2, but not UI3.

Anyway, this is now redundant as I have gone again to UI4 and am in the process of manually rebuilding my scenes and timers etc, but I would still like to know what I was missing - so that I can kick myself really hard!

Thanks again.

So the restore is actually on the backup tab which is why you might have missed it!

For SQ remote, the good news is that you hopefully wont have to wait too long as the UI4 compatible version of SQ remote is at the release candidate stage and was was released to testers about 10 days ago. Hopefully wont be long before its in the app store.
