I have setup several Foscam FI8910W cameras with Vera having full access and control over them. A few questions about notifications / archiving.
I currently have the Foscam camera emailing me pics when it sees motion, can I have Vera send me these notifications instead?
Depending on the answer to question 1, is there a way to arm/disarm the email notifications?
Lastly, I noticed Very archiving photo’s when motion is detected, do you know where these are being stored and can I have Vera store them on a USB hard drive
You need to go to each camera’s url (i.e.: http://10.0.1.xx), login and then go to “device management” > “alarm service settings” and then uncheck “send mail on alarm”. This will stop each of your cameras from sending an email with an image capture when motion is detected.
To enable Vera to send you a text alert when motion is detected, go to each of your motion sensor devices associated with each of your Foscams in the Vera dashboard and go to “notifications”, then add a notification for either a sensor is tripped (if you want a notification regardless of whether the sensor is “armed” or “bypassed” or an armed sensor is tripped (if you only want a notification if the sensor is set to “arm”. Archiving is done through the “settings” menu for each foscam where you can also direct an image to be archived only if the sensor is set to “arm” or if you want an image archived all the time whenever motion is detected.
I believe the images that are archived are actually stored on Vera’s servers but I’m not sure if you can direct these instead to be stored on a usb drive.

Doesn’t seem like you can. There are no option to store the archive to a USB stick. It only mentions logs really. Also no option from within Vera to work with emailing images (only from within the camera directly which defeats the purpose).
