does anyone have true experience with merging a UI 5 and a UI7 Vera together ?
i want to buy me a Edge, but have been told it can’t be dongraded to UI5
sure i wont Upgrade my VeraLite … (Never touch a running system principal)
so the way to get things done would be to simply merge them … leave the z-wave on the veralite and slowly but surely move all the processing parts to the Edge (well thats my theory)
end state would be … all plugins on the Edge (once they compatible) … but all z-wave on the VeraLite.
and maybe … well maybe if i have a day or two with nothing to do (which will happen in about 7356 Years) … ill upgrade the Veralite to UI7
also i plan to get a US-VeraEdge … to cover US Z-Wave for development …
For bridging Veras, they must both be on the same firmware version.
If you plan to simply make HTTP calls form one Vera to the next, that could work. But, it seems like that would be so limited as to not be worth the trouble.
You could run two separate Veras, on two separate Z-Wave networks.

is that a usable plan ?[/quote]
If you are going to run only Plugins then why bother with the Edge? It appears to me that the primary “advantage” of the Edge is support for ZWave+ devices.
true … its just an idea to “stay in the development process” …
personally i doubt that the ++ devices of the Edge are actually real.
however the Lite Vera’s have a VERY big z-wave issue … resulting in network timeouts (repeat commands to be sned and so on)
the ++ option surely have this sorted out …
well bottom line you are right … i Lite with UI5 … probably the “most wise” choice … and somewhat guarantees the mission.
i extra vera is planned to run most of the plugins … and the US-Network … (which will be not much as i use EU for production … but i need the US network for some tests and for some fanzy us-only things
