Has anyone tried “Controller shift” feature with Leviton handheld controller?

Wiki page says I have to initiate an “Add controller” as usual. But I used to do “Copy Z-Wave network” from Vera and select “Update Controller → Vera” from the controller, which would send its data to Vera and Vera becomes a secondary one. I can’t seem to initiate a controller shift from my remote controller and Vera times out very quickly.

There is a “Join as secondary” option in the Leviton controller. But it erases everything first, and then tries to join a network as a secondary controller.

Any hints on how to do controller shift properly?

Ah, apparently I wasn’t reading the description carefully… It appears “Controller shift” function only allows to shift Primary controller status from Vera to another controller, but not the other way around.

Is there any way to shift Primary status to Vera from another controller?

I don’t know about the Leviton Controller but on the Cooper hand held you can shift the roles.

So, what option do you select in Vera? Is it still “Controller shift”? Have you tried shifting roles with Vera in this direction - i.e. from Cooper to Vera to become primary? Thanks.

Yeah I select controller shift on the cooper and add zwave controller on vera and it shifts it back.

Nice. I can’t seem to find such an option in a Leviton controller :frowning:

I do have Intermatic HA07 as my primary. How do I shift the primary role to Vera? Any suggestion?
