Control Amazon Fire TV from Vera?

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has been able to control an Amazon Fire TV box or stick from their Vera?
In conjunction with the Onkyo app, I would be able to control our family room setup and that would be nice
I looked for an app, but didn’t see one and only saw one mention on these forums close to what I was looking for, but there were no responses. They have an app for your phone now to control it, so I’m thinking it’s possible. ;D

I participate in the iRule forum and from what I can see there, they do not have an API that can be programmed against. The app is proprietary to Amazon’s communications with the fire.

Multiple vendors have gone down this path, including Apple - it is definitely disappointing. Apple TV is controllable via Roomie, but they had to figure out the commands on their own and it isn’t supported by Apple and subject to change at Apples whims.

Yeah… per my above post, companies can back into solutions that are not supported by the vendors. A vendor like control4 will continue to put the development resources behind it - have you seen how much Control4 costs?!

BestBuy has the Harmony Smart Control on sale right now, and Vera has a plugin for that to in turn control the Fire TV. That’ was my Answer. Also My family loves the harmony remote.
