I have a spa that we use often, but paying for the electricity is getting expensive here in California. I want to switch it on and off. Is there an easy way to control a 30 amp dedicated GFCI circuit breaker with Vera?
Buy a contactor with a mains operated coil and use that to switch the supply to the spa. Use an appliance switch to control the supply to the coil of the contactor.
A small amount of wiring but you will have to do some anyway to control the spa whatever you use.
For safety you will either need to put it in a box or somewhere inside the spa casing.

I have a Elk9200 relay connected to mine with a z-wave plug outlet controlling it. Works great. I wired it up beside the circuit panel. The nice thing about the Elk9200 is it can handle up to 60 amps of current @ 220v. The metal box is a little on the big side but it is well built. You can often find them on sale.
That looks like a great solution. Our electrical panel is outside however. Trying to think of a way to do this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Home seer has them for 78bucks. As far as weather proof for outside installation you might (I’m not sure) be able to transfer the contents to a weather poof box.
Just a suggestion.
This is what I’m using for my spa:

It’s the RCS PMC30. It allows me to turn it on/off via a schedule and also monitor energy consumption while it’s running.

Also you can find the Intermatic CA3750 that is zwave compatible on sale for 70 bucks. They are weatherproof and perfect for this. (I use one).

Where did you find this RCS PMC30 to purchase? I can’t find a vendor to purchase from and their website does not have contact information or where to buy!
I’m a beta test site for an OEM and don’t know if these are in distribution to the general public.
