I have several zwave devices I am pretty sure will work fine on vera edge. What I am concerned about is currently I also have an insteon 6 button controller that controls my garage doors via an insteon I/O garage controller. Hoping these will still work to open and close the garages. The Insteon garage I/O also has a magnetic sensor which determines if the door is open or closed, wanted to continue to use this also.
The best thing to do is check in with our Technical Support team. Fill out a support ticket here. http://support.getvera.com/customer/portal/emails/new. They can look at your current configuration and will know if there are any issues with your devices.

Any thoughts?

I can send commands to my Insteon components, and any direct controller/responder programming between Insteon devices has worked fine, but I’ve never been able to get Vera to return status of those devices. Ie, turning a switchlinc light switch “on” locally at the switch is not reflected back to the Vera.
I also had much trouble with the IOlinc on Vera. Relay state modes only work properly in Insteon Scenes, so the best you’ll get is state mode “A” on the Vera. What this means is every time you send an “on” garage door command, you will need to send an additional “off” command to ready the vera for the next garage door command.
It would not surprise me if you find Vera will not tell you whether your garage is open or closed.
If you’ve programmed the Keylinc pad to work without the Vera, I imagine that will at least still works.
It has been mentioned many times in the past, Vera’s insteon support is limited and does not support 2 way communication. You will not get instant updates if the device is changed locally. You will need to use either Altsteon or the ISY controller for much better support.
