Could anyone let me know if there is a way to connect Verato a network wirelessly or does it need to be always connected to the networks router/cable etc. I Have a Vera 2 ui4 unit. Thank you.
I thought Vera UI4 had an option for this in the network settings. It’s hard to remember the various features, we’re up to UI7.
[To put Vera in wi-fi client mode, click Advanced, Net & Wi-fi from Vera’s se menu and choose the option “Through a wi-fi access point. Vera is a bridge.” You will need to choose the existing wi-fi network and provide any password for it, if any.]
I want to upgrade but I thought it would delete my zwave network and i dont want to set it up again. If I am wrong please explain how to do it. Thx.
As far as the with fi client mode situation, here is what i have already did with Vera before I did this.
I used to have this set up with an old provider. So Vera still has an IP address already with my old network. So I guess I need to delete that IP address. I was hoping that Vera would auto detect the new network.
I went to the advanced net settings and placed vera in wifi access and connected to the existing network however it went through a serious of changes but the Eth1 light was still blinking. Please advise onwhat you think i should do. Thx for your help. t

a. Add the new Z-Wave controlle rto the netowkr as a secondary controller. This will copy all Z-Wave nodes to teh secondary controller. Then perform a controller shift, making the new secondary controller primary.
b. (I’ve not tried or tested this) Upgrade from UI4 to UI5. Then [url=http://support.getvera.com/customer/en/portal/articles/1840699-upgrade-from-ui5-on-veralite-vera-2-or-vera-3]Upgrade from UI5 on Vera 2 to Vera Edge or Plus.

Autodetecting a new IP address will only occur if the interface is configured to use DHCP. If it has nee manually configured with a static IP address, for your previous ISP, then it cannot change the IP address automatically.
There is plenty of documentation, available via Google, on how to configure Vera’s network interfaces.
If you do not understand what needs to happen with regard to proper IP addressing and assignment, then you’ll need to get someone with networking knowledge to explain/do it for you.
