Connecting DSC to Vera Plus VIA RFK5500

I have just started to set my Vera Plus up.

My first goal is to setup an interface to my DSC 1864. I am utilizing a RFK5500 wireless LCD keypad (I have two) and have loaded the DSC app into the Vera Plus. Before I started this venture I read somewhere that this could be done but I am having difficulty figuring out how to connect the two different devices.

I do not have the option of using a cat5 connection because the alarm panel is two stories from the Vera, the Switch, and my router. I tried to get someone to run the cat5 wire but they told me they couldn’t do it so here I am stuck with 433 wireless.

I can program the 1864 and the keypads with no problem.

Why cant you use an EVL-4, wire it to the 4-wire keybus input on the panel, and then use an ethernet to WiFi “bridge” product to get it on your network? Like this one: LINK

I finally put one of the keypads upstairs so now I can get to it through the attic.

The biggest issue was trying to run a Cat5 cable to the basement from a third story.

Thanks for the input.

I hear ya. Running all these wires for the alarm I am currently installing is WAY more work than I thought it would be. Very tricky business indeed.
